Baptism

"Baptism is the first and chief sacrament of forgiveness of sins because it unites us with Christ, who died for our sins and rose for our justification, so that "we too might walk in newness of life." Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments".
(Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1131, 1407 and Jn 6:51, 54, 56.)

To baptize (Greek baptizein) means to plunge or immerse; the plunge into the water symbolizes the catechumen's burial into Christ's death, from which he rises up by resurrection with him as "a new creature".

Parent(s) must be registered members. Parents are required to attend a Baptism Preparation class, typically scheduled for the first Sunday of the month. It is recommended that godparents also attend.   Please call the Parish Office to register.

Baptisms may be scheduled for Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. and Sundays at 1:30 p.m. Please call to schedule a Baptism.
