The Sacrament of Eucharist is usually received in second grade. The child must be baptized, have received the Sacrament of Reconciliation, have completed first-grade Religious Education, and be attending second-grade Religious Education classes. The family must be attending Sunday Mass regularly. Children receive First Communion in May.
